MPRC General Meeting Notice - Thursday, March 10th at 7PM

"March Madness to Save the Pine Rocklands"

Please join the Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition at its' next meeting on Thursday, March 10th at 7PM.
We'll be meeting at the historic "Doc Thomas House" of the Tropical Audubon Society in South Miami off SW 55th Avenue and Sunset Drive. Snacks are encouraged!

The attack on So. Florida's Green Space is getting worse, so the "Rockland Rebels" are getting ready to expand its' battle to save the remaining Pine Rocklands.

What's under attack?
Battle Grounds Expanding:
  • Richmond Pine Rocklands
  • Trinity/Sunset Pinelands
  • Palmetto Bay/Cutler Bay
  • Ecotone/Wetlands/Rocklands
  • F.I.U. Nature Preserve.

We'll be meeting to discuss the latest strategies aimed at preserving and restoring our vanishing Pine Rocklands, maximizing our preservation efforts and encouraging everyone to participate in the various environmental activities around South Florida to help spread the word "Save it, don't Pave it".

I am glad to announce our meeting at Tropical Audubon Thursday will include Joy Klein speaking about Pine Rockland Preservation/ Restoration in Miami Dade, and Professor Phil Stoddard, S. Miami  Mayor speaking about the proposed changes he supports at FIU's Nature Preserve.

For anyobody with any questions about preserving/restoring Pine Rocklands Habitat in Miami-dade...this will be a critical meeting to learn factually what's going on with several projects, and what we can do to make sure it;s in the best interests of the remaining 2% of Pine Rocklands here.
